Air Duct Sealant in Ottawa
Current Ontario building code requires that duct sealant to be applied at the time of installation. Unfortunately, this leaves many older homes with existing ductwork only partly or completely un-sealed. In a typical house, with an un-sealed duct system, about 20 to 30 percent of the air is lost due to leaks, holes, and poorly connected ducts. This will cause your system to run longer and more often than necessary, resulting in higher utility bills and difficulty keeping the house comfortable.

Indicators of a poorly sealed duct system:
High utility bills
Rooms that are more difficult to heat or cool
Vents with poor air flow
Excess dust throughout the home
Furnace room is very warm or cool

Improve HVAC Efficiency and Your Family’s Health
Un-sealed ductwork can reduce heating and cooling efficiency by up to 20%, and in some cases, even spread harmful toxins throughout the home. Gas appliances such as water heaters, furnaces, and some dryers create combustion gases (such as carbon monoxide) as part of their regular operation. These gases can be harmful if not properly vented outide your home.
Un-sealed ductwork can also draw these gases in through gaps or holes in your ventilation system. Once the duct system draws in these harmful gases, it circulates them into the home, where they can build up in areas of poor ventilation (such as closets or storage areas), which can be a very serious health concern.
Maximum Seal
Our technicians are specifically trained to seal all duct work to the maximum code “Level A”, beyond the minimum “Level C”. This ensures that the ductwork is completely sealed and operating most efficiently, reducing your energy costs and health risks.
Our technicians will:
Inspect the whole duct system, including attic and crawlspaces when necessary.
Repair damaged and disconnected ducts, and straighten or shorten flexible ducts that are tangled or crushed.
Seal all leaks and connections with metal tape, or other approved sealant.
Insulate ducts in unconditioned areas (such as attics, crawlspaces, and garages) with duct insulation that carries an R-value of 6 or higher.
Recommend a new filter as part of any duct system improvement.

I had great experience with these guys. Came on time, put a lot of effort and attention to detail. Their price was 30% cheaper than their competitors (they had a promo at that time). As it turned out a lot of the HVAC companies in Ottawa re-sell third party duct cleaning services..
Great work Dr Duct! We appreciated your thoroughness and attention to the smaller details that guarantee a first-class job! This year, thanks to your fine work, we can say that as far as our home is concerned Spring really did arrive early.
The guys arrived on time and did an excellent job. They invited us to watch the monitor as they were cleaning the ductwork. Very professional. Will hire them again.
I highly recommend Dr. Duct. I shopped around and they gave the best estimate. They arrived as scheduled, did a great job, cleaned up and the price was as originally quoted. They were extremely professional and cheerful.
Third time that I have used Dr. Duct. I am very happy with the results. Excellent service. Great team of workers.
I am well pleased with the services I received with Dr. Duct. These guys did a great job replacing my dryer piping and repairing a rattling air duct. Very reasonable prices too.
The guys were very professional, great job, I was even able to watch it all on the screen. That was a eye opener. Would definitely recommend them.
